Fink, Lucille (Marriage - 2 Jun. 1945)
On Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the Zion Lutheran church at Colby occurred the marriage of Miss Lucille Fink, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Ida Wiegma) Fink of Colby, and Roland F. Hass, son of Mrs. Carl Meinke of Unity. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Otto Hoffmann. Music was supplied by Ervin Lutz, organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a princess style gown of rayon taffeta with wide lace insets bordering the sweetheart neckline and in the long entrained skirt. Her fingertip veil was held in place with a coronet of white beads. She wore a gold cross, a gift of the groom and a rhinestone pin worn by her mother on her wedding day 42 years ago, and carried a blue handkerchief. Her bouquet consisted of gardenias and swansonia. Miss Esther Weber of Marshfield, a cousin of the groom, as maid of honor, wore a gown of white net over satin made with a shirred bodice and full skirt. Her white shoulder length veil was fastened to a headdress of white flowers. The bridesmaids were Miss Bernita Wiegman, cousin of the bride, and Miss Marion Gosse. Miss Wiegman wore a gown of blue net with large bows on the full skirt, and Miss Gosse’s gown of pink net was fashioned with a row of tiny pink buttons on the front of the bodice, and small flowers of net on the full skirt. Both wore matching shoulder length veils caught to matching flower headdresses. All three attendants carried colonial bouquets of mixed spring flowers and wore pins, gifts of the bride.
The groom was attended by his brothers, Frank and Reuben Hass, and LaVerne Weber of Marshfield. Rheinhart Wiersig, cousin of the groom, and Walter Fink, brother of the bride, acted as ushers. The bride’s mother wore a gray and white dress with black accessories and the groom’s mother was attired in a blue dress with white accessories.
